Install an eSIM on Samsung Galaxy

Over Wi-Fi, before you leave, about 3 minutes. On Samsung, the eSIM is added from the SIM manager, with a QR code or by manual entry.

Before you start

  • Connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Check that the phone accepts eSIMs and is not locked to a network. Is my phone compatible?
  • Keep your personal Sirocco link to hand (text message, email or message).
  • Allow about 3 minutes.

Add the eSIM

  1. Open your personal Sirocco link. On another screen, tap “Show QR code”.
  2. On the Samsung, open Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM.
  3. Scan the QR code. Reading the guide on this same phone? Choose “Enter activation code” and paste the SM-DP+ address, then the activation code.
  4. Name the line “Sirocco”. Do not choose it for calls or texts.
  5. In your Sirocco guide, tap “I've finished installing”: the organiser sees that your eSIM is ready.

If scanning fails, choose “Enter activation code” and copy the SM-DP+ address and the activation code shown in your guide, using the “Copy” buttons.

Another Android phone? On Google Pixel: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs. On other brands, search for “SIM” in the settings.

On arrival: turn on data

  1. Open Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Mobile data and choose the Sirocco line for mobile data.
  2. Open Settings › Connections › Mobile networks, then turn on “Data roaming” for the Sirocco line.
  3. Nothing after 2 minutes? Restart the phone, or choose the network manually.

Turn on data roaming

Keeping your usual line

Your usual line stays active for calls and texts, if your plan allows it. Leave its data roaming off: your data goes through the Sirocco line.

Keep your number and WhatsApp

Not working?

Restart the phone. Still nothing? The guided check solves most cases in two minutes; otherwise the team takes over.

Never delete the eSIM after installation, not even to “try again”: it cannot always be reinstalled.

Frequently asked questions

My Samsung already has a SIM card: is that a problem?

No. Your usual SIM stays in place for calls and texts; the Sirocco eSIM is used for data while travelling.

I cannot see “Add eSIM”: what should I do?

The phone may not accept eSIMs, or it may be locked to a network. Do the *#06# test: no EID, no eSIM.

Can I delete the eSIM and reinstall it?

No: an eSIM can only be installed once. If in doubt, write to us before changing anything.
